Sultan Adler

* 1975 born in Bremen

Born in Bremen and working in Istanbul and Berlin, Sultan Acar (Adler), studied painting at the HfK Bremen, the Art Academy Berlin- Weissensee, and at the Academy of Arts in Vienna.

One of her formative impressions for her artistic work was an exceptionally large species of tulip that is protected in sunny Anatolia. The artist uses the downward-pointing tulip as a symbolic pictorial element for liberation from a regional shelter to place it in an art-historical context. The aim is to create a visual language that gives expression to a regionally experienced nature in a very personal way and at the same time transcends the cultural boundaries of its origin.
